Gratefulness in Difficulty
For many of us, 2020 resembles my own “dark night of the soul.” COVID, unemployment, racial tension, business closures, fires, political chaos, and riots have made this year one of the worst in the minds of many. This is the perfect time for us to do the work of giving thanks. The Lord is near.

Thankfulness is Taught
A heart of gratitude should follow us wherever we go. As a parent, be an example to your children, teach them to give thanks.

The Giver of All Gifts
There is abundant evidence of God’s good character everywhere. But why? For what purpose? Take a breath and soak in this answer: For you. To draw you to Himself.

Victims, Villains, and Heroes
We live in a world of Victims, Villains, and Heroes. Through our attempts at control, self-protection, and fear management, we often end up hurting ourselves and the ones we love. Yes, You Should Say Something: Overcoming Awkwardness with Grieving People – Nancy Guthrie
How do you come alongside someone who is grieving? This question is critical in for any believer, even more so as we are facing an insurmountable number of challenges and loss in the past year. As many of us know, losing a loved one is never easy. Sometimes the hurt...

The Road of Grief
Loss It seems fitting that I am writing about grief on “Overdose Awareness Day.” How else can I honor my brother, Jason Paul Keels, than to write about the gaping hole in my heart? I still have his phone number- even though it belongs to somebody else now. For 6...

Types of Loss and Permission to Grieve
On March 12th I was speaking in Mom to Mom with the topic: Tools to Help in Hard Times. We really had no idea what the next six months would bring as the realities of this pandemic sank in. Kids home from school, businesses closing, church not meeting. All sense of...
